Stallions Sweep Oakville in Weekend OFC Action


The Huronia Stallions Varsity team improved to 2-1 on the season with a commanding 41-7 victory over the Oakville Titans.  The Stallions won on the strength of yet another tremendous defensive effort coupled with a sound rushing attack.  The Stallions scored two defensive touchdowns on interception returns from Kayden Peters and Tyler Maher.  The defence had a bend but don’t break performance with numerous stops whenever Oakville threatened.  Rookie Defensive Tackle Luc Puddicombe had an outstanding game with two sacks and several tackles.    Runningback Devin McGuirk was the top offensive player registering two touchdowns and174 yards rushing.  McGuirk is also the team’s place kicker and converted a field goal.  Shifty runner Geoanthony Varga had a touchdown to round out the scoring.  The Stallions will look to improve to 3-1 and find more offensive balance this Sunday on the road against the Toronto Junior Argos.  


The Huronia Stallions Junior Varsity team remained undefeated with a 20-4 victory over the Oakville Titans.  The Stallions overcame another slow start with several offensive execution miscues to stay unbeaten.  Wide Receiver and Kicker Michael Tomczyk had a receiving touchdown and a field goal.  Quarterback Nicholas DeJesus and Wide Receiver Jalen Cooper connected on a 31 yard touchdown Strike.  Tailbacks Justin Janicki, Dustin Pearson and Fullback Bradley Kitchikake wore Oakville down in hot humid conditions with a relentless rushing attack.  Janicki and Pearson each crested the 100 yard mark.  The Stallions defence was not scored on and was led by Linebackers Gavin Wallin and Owen MacLeod.  Defensive Backs Jordan Travis who recorded an interception and Aiden Nicoletta had strong games with multiple pass defences.  The Stallions will look to improve to 4-0 this Sunday against the Toronto Junior Argos.


The Huronia Stallions Bantam team won their first game of the season 14-12 with a hard fought victory over the Oakville Titans.  The Stallions are now 1-2 on the season and travel to Toronto this Sunday hoping to move to .500 on the season.
